Cynde Strand Bio

For more than 20 years Cynde Strand traveled the world as a CNN cameraperson/producer assigned to bureaus in Beirut, Beijing, Nicosia, London, and Johannesburg. Later Cynde moved to Atlanta to lead international news coverage. She directed coverage during breaking news and managed some of CNN's biggest and most challenging stories. Cynde left CNN in 2019 but returned to take part in the coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She has won multiple Emmys and industry awards. Cynde currently teaches classes in journalism at Saint Michael's College in Vermont. Cynde is featured in the documentary No Ordinary Life about five trailblazing camerawomen.
