Community Professional Loudspeakers
Dave Howden is the Director of Technical Services for Community Professional Loudspeakers of Chester PA USA where he has worked for 20 years and currently oversees the Technical Applications Group. He received his associate’s degree from Full Sail University in Orlando FL and went to work for Clair Brothers Audio as an audio technician. After 10 years of technical and production experience he started his career path at Community Professional Loudspeakers initially as a System Measurement Technician and became involved with acoustical modeling support. Dave Howden provides global technical training to Community's customers.
Community Professional Loudspeakers is a manufacturer of a wide range of indoor and outdoor speaker systems. The Technical Applications Group provides design assistance and support to our sales network using a variety of software tools including Ease Focus 3 which allows visualization of the sound projection characteristics of speaker systems and their interactions with each other. Through analysis of the output data, informed loudspeaker selection, positioning and aiming, choices can be made to increase the likelihood of an efficient and successful system deployment.

EASE Focus 3 is a free acoustic simulation program for 3D modeling of line arrays, sub arrays, digitally steered columns and conventional loudspeakers. This presentation is targeted at the beginner level attendee and will focus on the configuration, operation and features of the software to help a designer make informed design choices. Live design examples will be shown using point source, column and line array speaker systems in common indoor and outdoor applications.
